Amica Mature Lifestyles - Zynik is a significant shareholder in Amica (TSX:ACC) which is one of Canada's most innovative leaders in senior Retirement Residences. Bringing a superior quality of life to mature adults across Canada, Amica's reputation for luxury, service and security make it the premier desired destination for mature living.

 

Bikram Yoga - World's largest yoga brand with locations across all continents. In May 2008, Zynik entered into a strategic relationship with Bikram Choudhury, Bikram Yoga founder, to grow and expand the organization.

 

 

Cambrian House - Zynik participated in a Seed Round for Cambrian House; a crowdsourcing community using the wisdom of a crowds-based approach to discover new business and technology ideas.

 

Equitable Trust Company - Zynik's Chairman bought Equitable in 1983 and the company later went public in 2004. Equitable Trust is a leader in providing competitive, alternative residential and commercial mortgages to the country's fastest-growing real estate markets. Zynik remains a significant shareholder.

 

Pulse Tracer Technologies Inc - Zynik incubated and led a Seed Round for Pulse Tracer. Pulse Tracer is a wellness lifestyle management company that combines fitness and entertainment into a wrist worn monitoring device.

 

Synergy - Zynik participated in a Seed Round for Synergy; a Business Intelligence start up from some of the founding/early executives at Crystal Decisions (later Business Objects) targeting novel applications for non-technical business users in SMEs.

 

Texada Software Inc - Zynik is a significant investor in Texada Software (TSX:TXS); a public software company selling comprehensive solutions for equipment rental companies.

 

Wakefield Beach Homes - Zynik, with additional Limited Partners, financed the construction of Wakefield Beach; a residential development on B.C.'s Sunshine Coast. Zynik has partnered with the developer on a second project, entitled "Secret Cove", with construction slated to begin in Fall 2008.

 

Weber Manufacturing Ltd - Zynik led a financial restructuring of Weber Manufacturing, acquiring the company out of bankruptcy in 2007. Weber is a leading manufacturer of Nickel Vapour Deposition (NVD) technology, with applications in aerospace, automotive, home and building products. Weber is based in Midland, Ontario.

 

Westin Whistler - Zynik, through a series of Limited Partnerships with other partners, owns 28 residential condominium units in the Westin Whistler, as well as the management contract for the hotel operations

 

Zybac - Zynik led a Seed Round in 2006 into a stealth start-up in Rochester MN, involved in leading-edge research and commercialization of bacterial detection technologies. Zybac is affiliated with the world renowned Mayo Clinic.

 

Zynik's professionals were previously involved in the following deals:

BlabberForce Enterprises Inc - Co-Founded by Nadeem Kassam as a collegiate entertainment marketing firm, later contracted by Arista Records as a strategic consulting partner.

ClubVibes Media Group - Co-Founded in 1998 by Nadeem Kassam as a global nightlife social network that connects advertisers to trend setters.

DiamondAir - US-based jewellery company in New Jersey; sold through a Management Buy-Out in 2003.

HotHaus Technologies - Within the Working Opportunity Fund, HotHaus was acquired by Broadcom Corporation; a leading US provider of integrated circuits enabling high-speed broadband communications, for proceeds of $100 Million.

Master Franchise Domino's Pizza UK - Partner in Master Franchise for both UK and Ireland; later sold to Domino's Franchise USA in 1986.

Med-Eng Systems Inc - Within the Working Ventures Canadian Fund, Med-Eng -a leading global supplier of explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) equipment and the world market leader for bomb disposal suits and helmets- was sold to Allen-Vanguard Corporation for proceeds of $78 Million.

PCL Packaging Corp - Assisted with multiple acquisitions by Inteplast Group Ltd and Trinity Packaging of the various assets throughout North America; liquidating other non-performing assets. PCL Packaging was founded in 1969 as a plastics recycler in Hamilton, Ontario.

Seel Mortgage Investment Corp - Bought Seel Mortgage in 1983. It was the first publicly traded Mortgage Investment Corp in Canada and was sold to Mutual Life in 1990.

Signature Brands - Publicly traded food manufacturing company sold to George Weston Bakery in 2001.

Stephenson's Rental Services (TSX:RNT/UN) - A leading equipment and tool rental company in Canada, became an income trust in 2005 under the guidance of Zynik Capital. Was subsequently acquired by EdgeStone Capital Partners (TSX:GMP/UN) in July of 2007.

White Rose Home & Garden Centers - Divested non-performing assets and liquidated the balance of the company.
