Sometimes the clearest measure of a mission is what an associate writes home about. This month, that was a Western Fire Protection family — one of 31 in the 2026 Zynik Founder Scholarship class.

“I am proud to be part of an organization that demonstrates such genuine care and investment in its people.”
— Nick D’Oria, R.S.E., Western Fire Protection

That sentence didn’t come from a press release. It came from a letter Nick D’Oria who leads the Service ITM team at Western Fire Protection. Nick wrote to Zynik founder Iqbal Kassam this April, after both his son and his daughter were named 2026 Zynik Founder Scholarship recipients.

Nick wasn’t writing about a project or a business milestone. He was writing because two students in his family had earned something they worked hard for and because of what that meant for him as a parent and as a Zynik associate.

“This opportunity means a great deal to our family. Supporting education in this way not only eases a significant financial burden but also reinforces the value that Zynik places on learning, growth, and the families of its employees. Your generosity will have a lasting and meaningful impact on my children’s future, and we are truly grateful.
I am proud to be part of an organization that demonstrates such genuine care and investment in its people.”
— Nick D’Oria, R.S.E., Western Fire Protection

It’s the kind of feedback we don’t write for ourselves. It comes from the people who live it.

For our founder, Iqbal Kassam, Zynik’s founder, the response was simple.

“Moments like this are exactly why we exist. Our mission at Zynik is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our associates and it’s leaders like Ryan who bring that mission to life in a real and human way.”
— Iqbal Kassam, Founder, Zynik

Ryan Renneboog, President of Zynik’s Fire Group, was the leader who got to share the news with Nick. As Ryan put it,

“It’s so fun to be a part of this and see the excitement in the associates’ faces.”

That’s what Zynik’s Mission in Action looks like. It’s a student opening a letter. It’s a parent who didn’t see it coming. It’s a leader celebrating his team like family. It’s 31 students this year alone who set a high bar and cleared it, and it’s a company that backs its words opportunities like the scholarship.

Congratulations to all 31 recipients of the 2026 Zynik Founder Scholarship class and to the families standing behind every one of them.
