Armada Toolworks marks 25 years in Lindsay, Ontario with new federal funding supporting modernization, medical device manufacturing and future growth.
Twenty-five years after establishing operations in Lindsay, Ontario, Armada Toolworks is celebrating an important milestone — and investing in an ambitious next chapter.
Armada was recently featured by local media following the announcement that the company will receive more than $650,000 in federal funding through FedDev Ontario’s Regional Tariff Response Initiative. The funding will support modernization at Armada’s Lindsay manufacturing facility and help the company diversify into new markets, including medical device manufacturing.
The announcement comes as Armada celebrates 25 years in Lindsay, making it a fitting moment to recognize both what the company has built and where it is headed next.
25 Years of Manufacturing in Lindsay, Ontario
Since establishing its Lindsay operation in 2001, Armada Toolworks has grown into a significant local manufacturer employing approximately 240 people.
Over those 25 years, the company has developed deep manufacturing expertise, technical capability and a skilled workforce capable of supporting demanding customer requirements.
That foundation is now creating opportunities well beyond Armada’s traditional markets.
Rather than standing still, the Armada team is continuing to look for ways to strengthen the business, expand its capabilities and apply its manufacturing expertise in new industries.
For Zynik, that approach reflects an important part of long-term business ownership: strong companies continue to evolve.
Markets change. Technologies change. Customer needs change. The strongest businesses build on what they already do well while continuing to find new opportunities for their people and capabilities.
Expanding into Medical Device Manufacturing
One of the most exciting opportunities ahead for Armada is its expansion into the medical device sector.
As highlighted in the recent news coverage, Armada is working with a local entrepreneur to manufacture an innovative CPAP device designed to operate without electricity. Production is expected to take place at Armada’s Lindsay facility, with the longer-term objective of bringing the product to customers around the world.
It is a meaningful example of how advanced manufacturing capabilities can be applied in entirely new ways.
The equipment, technical knowledge, production experience and problem-solving skills developed through years of manufacturing can create a platform for new products and industries.
For Armada, medical device manufacturing represents both diversification and opportunity.
It allows the company to enter a growing market while continuing to utilize and develop the capabilities of its existing workforce.
Investing in Modernization and Competitiveness
The federal investment will also support the modernization of Armada’s operations.
For manufacturers across North America, continued investment in technology, processes and production capability is increasingly important. Companies are navigating changing supply chains, new competitive pressures and rapidly evolving customer expectations.
Modernization allows manufacturers like Armada to become more flexible, efficient and capable of pursuing opportunities that may not have been possible in the past.
That flexibility matters.
Diversifying into new markets helps create a more resilient business while opening additional pathways for future growth.
In Armada’s case, it also creates the opportunity to bring new manufacturing work into the Lindsay facility and help protect and potentially grow employment in the Kawarthas. Armada leadership specifically highlighted the importance of keeping manufacturing and employment local as the company pursues these new opportunities.
Long-Term Growth Starts with People
At Zynik, we believe the most meaningful measure of growth is the opportunity it creates for people.
Companies become stronger when they continue investing in their employees, capabilities and communities — not simply for the next quarter or the next project, but for the long term.
Armada’s story is a strong example.
Twenty-five years ago, the company established its presence in Lindsay. Today, approximately 240 people are part of that operation, and the business continues to invest in creating opportunities for the future.
Entering medical manufacturing, modernizing the facility and pursuing new markets are important business initiatives. But they also support something larger: maintaining strong manufacturing jobs, developing new expertise and creating opportunities for people to build meaningful careers.
Celebrating the Past and Building What Comes Next
A 25th anniversary naturally creates an opportunity to look back.
But what makes this milestone especially exciting is how much of the Armada story is still being written.
The company is not simply celebrating 25 years of manufacturing excellence in Lindsay. It is investing in new technology, entering new industries and finding new applications for the capabilities its team has built over those years.
That combination of experience and curiosity is what allows established manufacturing companies to continue growing.
We are incredibly proud of the Armada Toolworks team and what they have accomplished over the past 25 years.
More importantly, we are excited to see where they take the business next.
Congratulations to the entire Armada team on 25 years in Lindsay and on the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
